The Mold Test I Wish I’d Ordered Sooner

If I could go back in time to the start of our health journey, I wouldn’t start with supplements, detoxes, or even lab tests.

I’d start with testing our home.

Because what we didn’t know—what most people don’t know—is that the house itself can be the root cause of mysterious, chronic health symptoms.

And the longer you stay in the dark, the sicker you can get.

Why Your Home Might Be the Problem

If you’re dealing with:

  • Digestive issues, abdominal pain, nausea, food allergies, or vomiting

  • Excessive thirst and urination (especially waking at night to pee)

  • Memory issues, brain fog, learning challenges, or ADHD

  • Fatigue that doesn’t go away

  • Mood swings, depression, anxiety, OCD, or rage

  • Period problems, hormone issues, or infertility

  • Headaches or migraines

  • Light sensitivity or visual disturbances

  • Sinus issues, shortness of breath, or cough

  • Muscle, joint, or nerve pain

  • Dizziness or vertigo

  • Allergies or asthma that seem worse at home

  • Kids with unexplained behavior or gut issues

You might have already tried everything else:
Diet changes. Detox protocols. Supplements. Therapy.
But if your home is contaminated, no amount of personal care can fully fix what your body is still breathing in.

That’s where ERMI and HERTSMI testing come in.

What Is ERMI or HERTSMI Testing?

Both are forms of dust testing that analyze your home’s dust for DNA fragments of mold species.

  • ERMI: Provides a broad snapshot of 36 mold species commonly found indoors, offering an overall picture of mold load and history.

  • HERTSMI-2: A more straightforward and affordable test that looks for five specific molds, each associated with different levels of humidity or moisture. This makes it a helpful screening tool, especially if you’re just getting started.

These tests don’t just tell you if mold is present.
They help you understand:

  • What kinds of molds you’re being exposed to

  • Whether your home’s environment could be unsafe for someone with chronic illness or immune dysfunction

Why I Wish I’d Done This Sooner

We wasted years—and honestly, hundreds of thousands of dollars—chasing supplements and protocols.
If I’d tested our house first, we would’ve saved time, money, and heartbreak.
We could’ve focused on fixing the environment, not just fixing ourselves.

I don’t want that for you.

Your Next Step: Don’t Guess. Test.

You don’t have to keep guessing whether your home is contributing to your symptoms. Start by checking your environment.

I created a free checklist to help you spot the common signs that your home might be making you sick—so you can know if further testing, like ERMI or HERTSMI, is worth your time.
